Biography: I earned my MA in German at the University of Georgia in Athens. After teaching German as part-time faculty at Kennesaw State College (now: University), I moved to Texas and began doctoral studies at The University of Texas at Austin in Germanic Studies. In addition to teaching first- and second-year German at UT-Austin while a graduate student, I also taught German language and literature at all levels at Texas A&M University while finishing my dissertation. I joined the faculty at Texas State University in the Fall of 2005, and successfully defended my Ph.D. dissertation the same semester. I was promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2007 and have taught German language, literature, and culture at all levels since then.

I have also worked as departmental webmaster for World Languages and Literatures at Texas State since the Fall of 2011. I currently administer several active websites under the umbrella of the Department of World Languages and Literatures Finally, I also administer the World Languages and Literatures Event Calendar, and co-administer the German at Texas State Facebook page.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my daughter, singing karaoke, tabletop gaming, good beer, and nerdom in general.
