Biography: Agustín Cuadrado earned a B.A. in English and and an M.A. in Film from the Universidad de Valladolid. He holds an M.A. in Spanish from Bowling Green State University, and M.A. in Spanish as a Second Language from the Universidad de Alcalá de Henares and a Ph.D. in Spanish Literature from the University of Arizona. He serves as Spanish undergraduate Advisor, and is co-Director of Letras Hispanas.
Research Interests: Dr. Cuadrado's research interests include contemporary Spanish literature and film with a focus on cultural studies. His work falls into three main lines of research: twentieth century writer Miguel Delibes, the Spanish detective novel, and Spanish cinema directed by young filmmakers of the 90’s. The analysis of space is the theoretical frame of the majority of his publications, granting special importance to authors such as Henri Lefebvre, Michel de Certeau and David Harvey.
