Munich Summer Study Abroad

Program Description

What You Will Learn

This program provides students with accelerated instruction in German and immersion in the target culture. Students will develop a deeper understanding of current German-speaking Europe and its colorful history by experiencing it on location, in the target language. Our main location will be Munich, but we will also explore other locations in Bavaria (Nuremberg, Regensburg, and Neuschwanstein), and end the program with five days in the Austrian cities Salzburg and Vienna.

The City and the Campus

Munich is a world-class city, a scenic hub of vibrant culture, economic innovation, soccer, and amazing food. Situated against the backdrop of the German Alps, it is a metropolis of 1.4 million, with a vast network of
excellent public transportation, beautiful parks, and excellent museums.
The Munich University of Applied Languages, part of the Language and Interpreting Institute (SDI), offers courses to students from all over the world.

Program Criteria

Participants must complete the required online application and be officially admitted to the program. Space is limited, so early application is recommended. Candidates must have credit for GER 1410 and GER 1420 or equivalent. Students will earn 6 hours in German Language. A GPA in German courses of 3.0 or higher is recommended. Program Director will contact German faculty for references.
