The Arabic program is proud of its students taking
the challenge to travel to the Arab world to strengthen their Arabic
language skills. Four of our students made their decision to travel to
Yemen to study Arabic in the summer of 2008. Jennifer Bland and
Shaun Payne left after finishing their 1420, finished their 2310
in Yemen and Joined us back to finish their 2320. Jennifer Cooke
and Andrew Nelson left after 1410, finished their 1420 in Yemen
and joined us back to finish their 2310 and 2320. Texas State was
among the top ten universities sending students to study abroad in
Yemen. If you have any questions about their trip please contact me at
arabicclass@txstate.edu and I
will get you in touch with one of them. There are many countries you
can pursue to study Arabic Abroad including: Oman, Morocco, Tunisia,
Jordan, and Egypt. Some students travel on their own to countries like
Syria and Yemen since they are cheap and their programs are very good.
They are not recommended though for security reasons and government
advice. Here is some pictures of their visit to Yemen: (pictures
